I just want to tell you-- thanks. Thank you for being there for me when I needed solace, reassurance and acceptance. For being there when I least expected it; when I laid myself bare, telling you of my sexual orientation: that I am bisexual. You were so kind, so compassionate and so understanding. The kind of acceptance and understand that is uncommon -- so bizarre in our Jamaican society. A society that encourages and glorifies the ostracisation and termination of my ilk.
I appreciate and will always appreciate you, even though we are no longer friends-- not because of my sexuality, but because of our other differences. Former Best friend, you could have done so many things with the information you had on me -- but you didn't. Instead, we parted ways; without malice, without judgement or without strife.
I love you and I will always care for you because you cared for me when I needed it most.
